Storytelling Weekend Workshop with Clare Murphy.

Over the course of these two days we will be exploring and developing storytelling skills that can be used in forest school work. We will go over the basic storytelling techniques that were covered in the one day workshop in 2016, and we will build on those skills to create more confidence in your storytelling.
In this workshop we will look at how to strengthen the voice and body to deliver a stronger story. We will also look at how you find stories. We will learn new stories and look at different learning methods.
We will develop Nature Connection Stories; i.e. personal stories that arise out of Nature Connection experiences in the forest and how we can tell those in a useful way during forest school work. And finally we will work on strengthening our connection to our audience, wherever we tell stories, so that our story leads the way.
As always with this work, we will also consider how to deal with nerves and other things that block powerful storytelling. Please arrive on time, in comfortable clothing. Bring a notebook, lunch and a willingness to play. Many techniques are delivered through a game format. You will work throughout the weekend in pairs and groups. This will be a practical workshop, with lots of hands on storytelling both inside and outside the workshop space (weather permitting).
You will be sent a questionnaire before the course, and given a list of anything else you will need to bring. It is helpful if you have already taken the intro course in Nov 2016, but not essential.
